A thank-you card
I once sent a simple, genuine thank-you card - a physical one, with no pitch attached. It indirectly led to a workshop, two clients and another referral.
Over the years, you've probably built hundreds of professional relationships - former colleagues, clients, suppliers, prospects, advisers and people whose careers have moved in completely different directions. Most of us barely scratch the surface of those relationships.

Save My SeatIncludes The HR Consultant's Network Message Kit, plus templates and tailor-made prompts to build your own AI-assisted Network Activation tools.
Every organisation, project and client you've been part of has left something behind: shared history, goodwill and trust. That doesn't disappear just because you haven't spoken in a while.
The problem is not usually finding more people.
It's knowing:
These are the questions the workshop is built around.
Your network is not a list of people.
It's a collection of relationships whose relevance keeps changing.
The people are the same. What's changed is where they are now, what they're working on, and how much you might have to offer each other.
Most reconnection attempts stall before a word is written, because there's no obvious reason to get in touch. So the message ends up vague, and it's easier not to send it at all.
But there are far more genuine reasons to contact someone than most of us ever use. Once the reason is clear, the message becomes much easier to write, and much more natural to receive.
Not everyone in a worthwhile network is a potential client, and that's not the point. In the workshop, we'll look at five kinds of relationship worth recognising.
Someone who knows and values your work and may become a repeat client, advocate or long-term supporter.
Someone who naturally connects good people and opportunities.
Someone whose knowledge, experience and perspective you genuinely value.
Someone with complementary expertise or interests where you can create something useful together.
Someone who already has the attention of people you could genuinely help.
The question is not "What can I get from this person?"
It's "Why might it be useful for us to know each other better - and how could we help each other?"
Don't work your network. Strengthen it.
Give people a genuine reason to hear from you.
The first message only needs to open the door.
Relationships before transactions.
Energy begets energy.
The more useful conversations you create, the more things tend to happen: introductions, invitations, collaborations, referrals, ideas and unexpected opportunities. You can't predict which conversation will lead somewhere, but you can create more opportunities for good timing.
The hardest part of reconnecting is often just bringing people back to mind, and working out where to begin.
That's where AI genuinely helps. Not by writing hundreds of messages and sending them out, but by helping you rediscover the relationships you've built and find a natural way back into the conversation. It won't invent shared history or pretend to know people better than you do.
You'll get the templates, instructions and tailor-made prompts to create two tools of your own in ChatGPT or Claude - each in about 60 seconds. No coding required. Just copy and paste.
Helps you turn your own career history, professional relationships and connections into a personalised picture of the people and relationships worth revisiting.
Helps you choose a natural reason and approach for different relationships, then creates a strong starting message you can adapt in your own voice.
AI helps with the remembering, organising and first draft. The relationships stay human.
This is a live, practical working session - not a pre-recorded course. During the live session, you'll start applying the process to your own network and real relationships:
You'll leave having worked on real relationships and real messages - not just a page of notes about networking.
We'll also leave time for live Q&A, so you can bring your questions about your own network, the people in it and how to approach them.
Natural, ready-to-personalise messages to restart conversations with old contacts, former clients and past prospects.
Over 40 message templates, a 30-day action plan, a tracker to keep it moving, worked examples and a referral trigger builder - so the momentum from the workshop carries on afterwards.
“It really helped me realise that I have a lot of contacts I’ve worked with in the past that I can reconnect with. I liked that the outreach was tailored to lots of different scenarios, and it certainly made me think outside the box. Definitely worth considering - you will almost certainly learn something new.”

If you can't join live, you'll still receive the full workshop replay, notes, AI prompts, templates and supporting resources.

This isn't just a hunch. During the workshop, we'll look at some of the research behind the approach, including:
The workshop starts with relationships you already have, because that's usually the fastest place to begin.
We'll also look briefly at how to identify people worth gradually getting to know.
The philosophy stays the same: not mass outreach, but deliberately building relevant relationships over time.
I'm Ben Geoghegan, host of the A Better HR Business podcast, the Workforce Success Stories Summit, and multiple in-person DisruptHR events.
I've spent a decade working directly with HR-related consultancies and HR tech companies on their marketing and growth - not as a general business coach, but specifically inside this industry, with its own quirks, buying behaviour and credibility bar.
I've worked with HR business owners across the US, UK, Australia, Canada, Europe, Asia and Africa. Some were solo consultants just starting out. Others were established consultancies looking for their next growth channel.
Much of this workshop comes from seeing how real consultants actually come by their clients, referrals and collaborations - and how often it starts with reconnecting with people they already knew. I've seen it in my own business too:
I once sent a simple, genuine thank-you card - a physical one, with no pitch attached. It indirectly led to a workshop, two clients and another referral.
When I started offering podcast launches, I let a handful of past clients know about the new service. That short round of messages led to two further podcast launches.
“Ben's insights played a real role in sharpening my approach to marketing and positioning myself as a new Organizational Development and Leadership Consultant.”

“Ben's industry knowledge is brilliant and really helped me develop my niche, core services and pricing structure - especially useful if you're making the jump to HR consultant or feel stuck in your existing consultancy.”

“Ben clearly understands HR buyers and knows how to help HR service providers align with buyers' needs.”

“Ben is an outstanding resource for helping HR consultants with any aspect in the Human Resources field. His information is not only fresh but useful and 100% proven effective.”

Yes, absolutely. The workshop starts with the relationships you built throughout your career - former colleagues, managers, direct reports, suppliers and people from past projects - not only people who've bought consulting from you. Newer consultants often find they have more to work with than they expected.
That's very common, and it's usually bigger than it feels. A big part of the session is rediscovering people you've lost touch with and working out which relationships are worth revisiting. You don't need hundreds of contacts - a handful of good conversations can be enough to get things moving.
Not at all - nothing to worry about there. You'll get templates, clear instructions and tailor-made prompts to set up both tools in ChatGPT or Claude in about 60 seconds each. No coding, just copy and paste. And if you'd rather not use AI, the workshop and the Message Kit work perfectly well without it.
Not at all - quite the opposite. Every message is one you choose to send, in your own voice, to someone you genuinely know, with a real reason to get in touch. It's about better conversations, not more noise.
No problem at all. Your registration includes the full replay, workshop notes, the AI templates and prompts, and all supporting resources, so you can work through everything in your own time.
Then you shouldn't pay for it. If the workshop isn't worthwhile for you, just email me within a month and I'll happily give you a full refund.
Now let's rediscover some of the people, relationships and opportunities inside it.
Come with your career and connections. Leave with people worth reconnecting with, genuine reasons to get in touch, messages ready to adapt and a practical plan for keeping the momentum going.
